Cheshire Bridge
Cheshire Bridge is an area in Atlanta, GA that pre-dates the city itself. It has been home to many businesses over the years, primarily restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and adult entertainment. There have been constant attempts to change the reputation of the area from numerous sources, including the local government. The area has increasingly been used for new housing and luxury condo developments that take advantage of the prime location that connects the neighborhoods of Midtown to Buckhead.
My first exposure to Cheshire Bridge Rd. was when I began working at a small pizza restaurant. I had just moved to Atlanta, and it was the only job I could find at the time. I was the delivery driver, so I quickly became familiar with the vibe and reputation Cheshire Bridge had. Through delivering, I met many people that were eager to open up and give their experience and history of Cheshire Bridge. Over the course of the project, many people have moved on, businesses have been torn down, and the area is rapidly seeing the change that outsiders wanted for quite some time. Starting as a way to capture the spirit and vitality of the people and places, it has become a time capsule for a neighborhood quickly vanishing.
